Arrows and shoes from the little woman on the left is top work.
How long did it take you? Did you scribble it down or did you use some tools besides a black pen?
I have no idea of the time. I got up for a panel, soda, bathroom break, and engaged in conversation. Maybe, and hour and a half? Maybe more? I'm not a fast artist. When I work at home my pace could be described as glacial. For me this is lightning fast, slap and flash. I'd like to be able to bring some of the looseness and spontaneity to some (not all) of my comic work.
I pencilled it loosely (for me anyway), then hit it with a no2 micron to set details. I fleshed it out with a brush-spotting blacks and emboldening lines. I made some decisions on the fly. Some small-like the girl's shoes-other larger- like the decision to make the warrior's side dark and the sprite's (elf's?) side light.
